Utrecht

Utrecht is a lively city in the Netherlands of about 300000 people with a medieval centre. The centre is small enough to explore on foot. Utrecht is built around the cathedral, that is the symbol of the city. There are lots of water areas and picturesque canals (grachten), where waterfront restaurants, pubs and cafes are housed. In addition Utrecht offers numerous other architectural monuments. There are 70000 Students living in the city, so it is very popular for its nightlife and great shopping opportunities. Utrecht is also suitable for a day trip for visitors to Amsterdam.
